According to Charaka Samhita, the digestive fire of the body is slow in the monsoon. Because of this, what we eat does not digest properly and toxin starts to form in the body. Toxins stored in the body exit through sweat and urine. Along with this, it is helpful in increasing immunity, which gives relief from colds and cough.
Moisture can cause sore throat, phlegm and many types of infections. In such a situation, drinking lukewarm water provides great relief from these problems and also helps in removing infection. The body often feels tightness due to moisture during the monsoon. Drinking lukewarm water daily reduces muscle tightness and feels relaxed.
According to Ayurveda, drinking lukewarm water brings out toxins present in the body, which also relieves the problem of nail-pimples on the skin and makes the skin look glowing and shiny.
According to the Sushruta Civil, one should drink lukewarm water half an hour before eating on an empty stomach in the morning, half an hour after meal and before going to bed at night. When you drink lukewarm water on an empty stomach in the morning, the digestive system is activated and ease of bowel movements. At the same time, drinking water half an hour before eating improves digestion.
Drinking two-three glasses of water after half an hour after eating foods is easily digested, drinking lukewarm water before going to bed at night gives good sleep.
