Nalanda (Bihar), 24 November (IANS). A special campaign is being run from 20 November to 10 December under ‘Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ in Nalanda district of Bihar. Under this, people above 70 years of age are also being registered for the ‘Ayushman Vaya Vandana’ scheme. The elders have highly praised the scheme.
On the ‘Ayushman Vaya Vandana’ card, the elderly will be able to get treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh annually in hospitals. Under this campaign, people above 70 years of age living in Nalanda can get the Vaya Vandana Yojana card made by registering under Ayushman Yojana through Aadhaar card.
Shabnam Sultana, District Program Head of Ayushman Bharat, spoke to IANS regarding this campaign in Nalanda. He informed that a campaign is being run from 20th November to 10th December. This campaign is being run in entire Bihar. Ayushman Vaya Vandana card will be made under ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ at digital counters in all hospitals. The target of making Ayushman cards in Nalanda is around 26 lakh. Currently around 11 lakh people have been registered. Some applications have also gone into rejection. He informed that after December 10, door-to-door campaign will also be conducted. Asha workers will go door-to-door and the beneficiaries who have been left out of Ayushman cards will be added.
He has told that Asha workers will work to connect ration card holders with Ayushman Yojana. The Asha worker will also be paid Rs 5 for making each card.
Shabnam Sultana said that Ayushman Yojana provides health benefits worth Rs 5 lakh annually. Cardholders can get treatment in identified hospitals. There were five people from Nalanda who went out and got treatment through this card. Under Ayushman Vaya Vandana Yojana, any person above 70 years of age can make a card. He should have Aadhar card.
Azim Shah, who is making cards under the ‘Ayushman Vaya Vandana’ scheme, said that such a scheme was not introduced earlier. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought this scheme, which will provide health benefits to us poor. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
Pyare Paswan said, “I had received information about this scheme. We have come to get the Ayushman card made. Through this card, we will be able to get treatment in the hospital. This scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will prove to be very beneficial for us.”
