Mansukh Mandavia will inaugurate a three -day Fit India Carnival on Sunday

New Delhi, March 15 (IANS. Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavia will inaugurate the three -day fitness and wellness festival, Fit India Carnival at JLN Stadium here on Sunday.

The program will also unveil the mascot, logo and anthem of the upcoming Khelo India Para Games to be held in the national capital from March 20 to 27.

During the three days of Fit India Carnival, many sports activities will be the main attraction including rope jumping, stable cycling, arm wrestling, cricket bowling, squat and push-up challenge etc.

According to an official statement, Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana, wrestler and enthusiastic Sangram Singh and wellness guru Mickey Mehta will also attend the inauguration of Carnival.

Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse and several special guests will also attend the event.

The Fit India Carnival, which will end on March 18, is aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, which is aligning with the opinion of the fit India movement’s fitter, healthy and obesity -free nation.

A statement said that guests will also attend live conversations including fun fitness challenges.

Doctors, nutritionists and psychologists of the National Sports Science and Research Center of the Sports Authority of India will also attend the carnival and provide free evaluation to people in the program.

Cultural performances focused on the theme of ‘Fitness’ through dance, live DJ music and band performances will also be held during three days, attractive performances such as Kalapayattu, Mallakhamb and Gatka.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited 10 prominent personalities to join the national movement against obesity with his fit India initiative and to raise awareness about health consumption.

Among the nominees, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, businessman Anand Mahindra, actor-turned-leader Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Nirhua, Olympic medal winners Manu Bhakar and Meerabai Chanu, actor Mohanlal and R.K. Madhavan, singer Shreya Ghoshal, Rajya Sabha member and social worker Sudha Murthy and Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani.

PM Modi urged these celebrities to enroll ten persons to increase the reach and influence of the movement.
