Taipei, October 3 (IANS). A massive fire broke out in a hospital in Pingtung County, Taiwan on Thursday morning. According to local media reports, eight people died in this accident.
The Pingtung County Government has issued a statement after the accident. He said that after the fire in the hospital, eight people were evacuated, out of which six men and two women could not be saved.
According to Xinhua news agency, the local fire department received information about a fire in a building of Antai Tian-Sheng Memorial Hospital at 7:41 am. After this incident, the fire brigade team reached the spot and tried to extinguish the fire in the building.
During this time, the fire brigade team rescued eight people trapped in the hospital and they were immediately treated. But by then he had died.
Earlier, the dean of the hospital, Su Ching-chuan, while talking to the media, said that a massive fire broke out in the machine room of the hospital building due to the burning of the air compressor.
Most of the victims were elderly hospitalized patients, he said, adding that eight people died.
At the same time, rescue workers told the local media that the fire in the hospital has now been brought under control.
