New Delhi, 10 June (IANS). Prior to the 11th International Yoga Day (IDY), the Ministry of AYUSH said that more than 50,000 organizations across the country have registered to be a part of Yoga Sangam.
This is a new record of collective participation. Yoga Sangam will be held on June 21 from 6.30 am to 7.45 am.
This year’s theme is ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, which gives a message to the world for unity and health. IITs, IIMs, central universities as well as many corporate and private organizations are joining the event.
Rajasthan leads the registration of more than 11,000 organizations. There have been more than 7,000 registrations in Telangana and about 5,000 in Madhya Pradesh.
The Ministry of AYUSH said, “It is expected to organize Yoga Day at more than one lakh places. Yoga Sangam 2025 is the global festival of ancient yoga of India. We appeal to citizens, institutions and communities to come together and do yoga for a healthy, harmonious world.”
Yoga Day will be held from icy peaks of Ladakh to Kerala beaches, school grounds, offices, railway stations and historical temples.
Actor Anupam Kher, Manoj Joshi, Shilpa Shetty and Rakul Preet have also supported the organizing of Yoga Sangam and Yoga Day.
The ministry said that these events will be tracked through online facility on the yoga portal. Interested organizations can register for their organizing on this portal. Citizens can register as a group or organization by visiting the website of the Ministry of AYUSH.
After the Yoga Sangam event on 21 June, the official appreciation letter will also be received on uploading details of the participation.
