New Delhi, 7 February (IANS). So far more than 73.90 crore health accounts have been created under the Central Government’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare gave this information on Friday.
ABDM started in 2021, aimed at creating a digital health system in the country. For this, every citizen’s Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number is made. It is a special identification number of 14 digits, earlier called Health ID.
By 3 February 2025, the government has released a total of 73,90,93,095 ‘Abha’ ID. This information was given by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
Aura number can easily reach your health records from one doctor to another. This will keep your care continuously and will also improve health services.
In addition, it is a kind of digital health account that can connect people living across the country. Whenever needed, information about all its medical needs and treatment can be found online through Abha Card.
The government is taking various steps to spread the information of this scheme to more and more people. This includes media publicity, information and education activities (IEC), and awareness campaigns.
Jadhav said that the government has decided to increase some important health schemes under the National Health Mission by 2021-2026. Their goal is to reduce maternal mortality to 87 per lakh. Bring infant mortality to 22 per thousand. Maintaining the total fertility rate at 2.0. To set up 1.5 lakh ‘Ayushman Arogya Temple’ across the country. Ensuring more than 90% complete vaccination of all children up to one year.
Apart from this, programs will also continue against diseases like malaria, dengue, lymphatic filaria, black Azar.
