Bengaluru, 4 July (IANS). Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao tried to put an end to the rumors on the ongoing rumors between Kovid vaccine and heart attack or sudden deaths. He said that so far no concrete evidence has been found in the reports of ICMR and other international reputed research institutions to say that the Covid vaccine has caused heart attacks or accidental deaths.
In a special conversation with news agency IANS, on Friday, he clarified that no trusted institution has proved that Kovid vaccine has a direct relationship with a heart attack or sudden death. However, he also admitted that there are apprehensions in many people, even in the medical community. He said that we have not reached any conclusion. A committee of experts is seriously investigating the subject and we have given them 10 days to report the report. It would be unfair to make any speculation of any kind until the report comes.
Dinesh Gundu Rao said that it is true that in recent years there have been increased heart attack incidents among youth, but there can be many other reasons behind it, such as changing lifestyle, excessive stress, pollution, eating habits and environmental factors. This is a big public health issue and we are making people aware of improving lifestyle. He said that there was a report about some sudden deaths in a district, but it is too early to say that there is a relationship with the Kovid vaccine in them. Every district has deaths due to health reasons. We have to see if something really has happened or not.
The minister said that the expert committee is comparing district -wise data, so that it can be known whether the number of deaths is higher than the average and if yes, what could be the reason for it. We should wait for concrete information. Unnecessary speculation can spread fear and confusion in the society, which is not right at this time.
