New Delhi, 30 June (IANS). There are many such herbs in Ayurveda which are considered useful in removing many problems from the body. One such herb is Chopchini/Chobchi. Its root powder is used in Ayurvedic medicines. The effect is hot, so special precautions should be taken while consuming.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, there are about 262 different species around the world, while India have 39 species. Out of 39, Smilax Turban, first came in the early 20th century. The plant is found in China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and India.
Chopchini is also known as ‘China root’ (Chinese root). Its scientific name is Smilax China. It is a perennial plant that is a native of East Asia and has a long history of its use in traditional medicine. Chobchini belongs to the smillacsey family, which helps to purify the blood, eliminate harmful substances, treat inflammatory diseases.
According to a report by the Neshanal Library of Medicon, the extracts of the chopchini root contain elements such as Quacratin, Revecratrol and Oxeresivertrol. Which are useful for curing acne. Chopchini oil is also effective in relieving joint pain.
According to Ayurveda, it is beneficial in removing the problem of uric acid. Taking half a teaspoon of chopchini powder regularly in the morning on an empty stomach and half a teaspoon at bedtime at bedtime for a few days reduces the problem of uric acid.
Chopchini is mentioned as an important medicine in Charaka Samhita. It is included in the Charaka Samhita as leprosy Mahakashaya (group of herbs curing skin diseases). Because the effect is hot, pregnant women and people struggling with stomach problems should take special care. One should not consume without medical consultation.
