Jhajjar, 15 February (IANS). Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and BJP National President J.P. Nadda inaugurated the ‘AIIMS Oncology Conclave 2025’ at the National Cancer Institute in Jhajjar on Saturday.
The Health Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged us to think big. The ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ was launched to provide healthcare to the economically weaker sections of the society under his visionary leadership. Today, it is the world’s largest health coverage program.
He said that in the third term of the Modi government, all senior citizens above the age of 70, irrespective of their socio-economic background, are now eligible for health insurance coverage of five lakh rupees.
J.P. Nadda said that in just six years, AIIMS Jhajjar has emerged as a world class healthcare institute, which has set new standards in medical excellence. He congratulated the faculty members, doctors and healthcare personnel, whose tireless efforts have converted the institute into the center of prestigious and high quality healthcare.
He said that the house and shops were sold as soon as the word of cancer came in the poor’s house. The family members of the patient were asked to take care of them. The poor man could never imagine that he would have a bypass surgery. But, today all this is being possible. Poor people are getting benefit under ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’. Diseases like cancer are also being treated under this scheme.
J.P. Nadda said, “Our plan is to set up a day care cancer center (DCC) in all district hospitals in the next three years, in which 200 centers will be opened this year. The objective of this initiative is to bring the necessary cancer services close to the house, special In the deprived rural areas. “
