New Delhi, October 25 (IANS). President Draupadi Murmu attended the second convocation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Raipur on Friday. During this, he addressed the doctors present there and asked them not to ignore their health. He also urged doctors to work with compassion and sensitivity.
Murmu said, “Many occasions you have to work in a stressful environment. Take care of your health and do not ignore it. It is very important for you to be healthy and look healthy to increase the confidence and well-being of patients.”
He said that the government is increasing access to health care for all citizens of the country.
The President said, “Many steps have been taken in the last decade to provide universal health coverage. Affordable and quality medicines are available to the people through the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP). For MBBS and PG in the last ten years The number of seats in medical colleges has also increased.
Apart from this, Murmu also stressed the need for modern technologies in the medical field for the welfare of the people living in remote areas of the country. He said, “We are living through a time in which modern technologies are increasingly impacting human life. Such technologies can be used for the welfare of people living in remote areas.”
Murmu said that medical professionals have a huge responsibility as their decisions are related to saving lives. He said that medical professionals will play a decisive role in realizing the dream of ‘Developed India’ by 2047.
The President called on doctors to work with human values of compassion and sensitivity. Murmu said, “Always incorporate these life values in your work. This will give you success at your workplace and make your life meaningful.”
