Ram Mandir Trust president Mahant Nritya Gopal Das admitted in ICU

Lucknow, Sep 9 (IANS) Mahant Nritya Gopal Das (86), president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has been admitted to the ICU of Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.

The hospital issued a medical bulletin on Monday stating that his condition is critical and a team of doctors is constantly monitoring him.

Earlier, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was treated in Gwalior due to urinary problems. The spiritual leader had gone to Mathura on August 24 to attend Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. After this, he went to Gwalior to meet the devotees, where his health deteriorated and he was admitted to the hospital.

As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.

The Chief Medical Superintendent of Medanta Hospital said that Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was admitted to the hospital on Sunday evening. He is having difficulty in urinating and eating and Dr. Dilip Dubey’s team is currently taking care of him. His condition remains critical.

It is noteworthy that Mahant Nritya Gopal Das has been suffering from diseases related to urinary problems and inability to eat since the year 2019. He has been admitted to Medanta Hospital several times in the last four years.

Mahant Nritya Gopal Das is the head of Mani Ram Das’s cantonment temple and Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad established the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust in January 1993 after the demolition of the Babri Masjid. This trust is overseeing the construction of the Ram temple.

Born on June 11, 1938 in Kerhala village of Mathura, the Mahant has played an important role in the construction of many important temples including Ramayan Bhawan, Sri Ranganath Temple and Sri Char Dham Temple in Ayodhya.

He has been associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement for many decades.
