Due to bad lifestyle, many types of diseases have started increasing in the body. Due to carelessness about food, there can be a problem of high cholesterol in the body. Which can cause a serious situation. Increasing bad cholesterol in the body increases the risk of heart diseases and stroke. This cholesterol starts sticking to the arteries, which increases the risk of blockage in the blood. However, you can easily control high cholesterol by taking care of diet and some lifestyle related things. Know what to do to reduce cholesterol?

How to reduce cholesterol naturally without medicine

Improve diet- To reduce high cholesterol, take special care of your diet. Use as little oil as possible in food. Apart from this, increase the amount of high fiber food like fruits and vegetables. Include whole grains in your diet which includes oats, brown rice and whole wheat. Such things are rich in soluble fiber which reduces the absorption of cholesterol in the blood. Include healthy fats in your diet. Eat a diet rich in fiber and protein.

Do physical activity- An effective way to reduce cholesterol is to exercise regularly. Increasing physical activity increases good cholesterol (HDL) in the body and reduces bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides. You should do at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise like jogging or swimming every week. This will improve heart health.

Keep your weight low- If your cholesterol is high and you are overweight, then first of all control your weight. Increasing fat around the stomach can cause high cholesterol. Therefore, keep your weight low. To lose weight, you will have to follow a healthy diet and exercise which will also help in reducing your cholesterol.

Quit smoking- Smoking reduces good cholesterol (HDL) in the body and increases bad cholesterol (LDL). Smoking has a direct impact on cholesterol levels. It also has a bad effect on the health of the lungs. Therefore, quit the habit of smoking immediately. This will reduce heart attacks and lung related problems.

Reduce your alcohol consumption- Drinking too much alcohol is not good for health. It can damage even a large and strong organ like the liver. This is also a reason for increasing bad cholesterol. You can drink alcohol in limited quantities, but drinking too much is harmful.
