New Delhi, 17 June (IANS). In today’s modern life, the decline in obesity and fitness has become a serious health challenge. This relationship is largely associated with malnutrition. To deal with this problem, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has promoted the principle of “5P” in the diet.
This new initiative not only promotes safe food, but also motivates to adopt a healthy lifestyle. This campaign encourages obesity and stay fit and adopt people to adopt better food habits.
What are ‘5p’? FSSAI has introduced the concept of “5P”. It is very beneficial for your health to include fresh fruits, vegetables and adequate water in your diet. It provides essential nutrients to your body, keeps you hydrated, and helps protect you from many diseases.
‘5P’ has the first ‘P’ to ‘Planty of Fruits Vegetable and Water’; That is, abundance of fruits, vegetables and water. You can include fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables and enough water in your diet, it not only nourishes, but also improves metabolism and keeps the body hydrated.
The second ‘P’ is ‘Pick Healthy Fat’, which means- choose healthy fat in the diet. ‘Good fat’ is the fat that helps in reducing heart disease, cholesterol levels and obesity in the body, in addition to contributing to the functioning of the body smoothly. These are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat, which you should pay attention to. Fats obtained from nuts, seeds or olive oil are good examples of ‘good fat’.
The third is ‘P’ – ‘Power Your Plate with Balanced Nutrition’ – This is about maintaining a balanced diet. A balanced diet has a balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat. Protein is necessary to keep the muscles strong in addition to being an important nutrient for the body functioning. Carbohydrates give us energy to perform daily tasks. Fat is also a source of energy that plays a balanced amount in physical functioning by taking a balanced amount.
The fourth is ‘P’ – ‘Plan Mill Time Mindfuli’ – that is, pay attention to the timing of food. For this, you should eat at the appointed time. Many experts advise to keep a gap of at least four hours between two miles. This gives the body enough time to digest food, which plays an important role in better digestion. Therefore, you should get rid of the habit of eating something unnecessarily again and again. Apart from this, according to Ayurveda, food should be chewed and chewed. Do not drink water while eating. However, you can drink water half an hour before and after meals.
The fifth ‘P’ is ‘Pay Attention to Porcens and Food Choice’ means to choose your food and pay special attention to its quantity. For this, eat the right amount and stay away from processed or junk food. Digestion is also affected by filling the stomach more. Also, excessive intake of junk food increases the risk of many diseases, while nutritious food helps to keep the body healthy.
