Delhi, 12 June (IANS). The central government is working towards making the program to be held on International Yoga Day on 21 June historic. This time is the 10th International Yoga Day, which will be held in Visakhapatnam. Union AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav on Thursday said about the preparations for Yoga Day and said that the government has organized several programs to increase the reach of yoga, including other countries in the world.
Prataprao Jadhav said that this year is special, because we are celebrating 10 years of success of Yoga Day. This time its theme is “one earth, yoga for a health”. This year the main event will be held in Visakhapatnam, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the yoga performance. The state government has launched a historical initiative in the form of “Yoga Andhra”, which aims to build a million yoga practitioners.
He said that countdown programs were organized in cities like New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Nashik and Puducherry across the country. Public participation and energy in the events have brought a new enthusiasm. This is a big step towards converting yoga into a mass movement.
The Union Minister appealed that yoga is not just physical exercise, but a holistic art of living, which teaches restraint, discipline and self-peace. Let us together make Yoga Day a celebration of people and make yoga a part of your lifestyle.
The Union Minister also informed about the 10 major programs to be held across the country on International Yoga Day. He said that in ‘Yoga Sangam’, collective yoga exercises will be organized in more than one lakh places across the country on 21 June. Under Yoga Bandhan, 10 partner countries will have international yoga sessions in collaboration with Indian embassies. Through the Yoga Park program, one thousand yoga parks will be constructed or upgraded across the country.
A special yoga program has been organized for Divyangajan, senior citizens, children and people with special needs under yoga inclusion. Yoga effects will evaluate the social and health effects of yoga from 2015 to 2025. Apart from this, the global yoga summit under ‘Yoga Connect’ will include Yogguru, policy maker, health experts and influential celebrities. A program of Green Yoga has also been organized, which will include activities connecting environmental protection and yoga. Yoga -focused events will be placed on offline and digital platforms to attract youth in the Yoga Unplugged Program.
Yoga Mahakumbh is also to be organized, which will include a week -long yoga festival in 10 cities of the country. Meditation has been included on evidence-based integration of yoga in contemporary medical systems under the coincidence program.
