New York, 20 April (IANS). According to a new research, scientists have discovered which parts of the brain are active at that time during the conversation by combining the recording of artificial intelligence (AI) and brain’s electrical activity.
The team of the Department of Neuro Surgery of Massachusetts General Hospital in the US tried to find out how our brain understands and uses when we talk in real life.
In a paper published in Nature Communications, the lead author Jing Kai said, “We wanted to understand which parts of the brain are active at the time of conversation, when we speak and hear, and how these activities are associated with the words of conversation and their meanings.”
For this, he took the help of AI, so that it can understand well how our brain works when we talk among ourselves. Just like a language models like chat GGPT work. By placing electrodes inside the brain, he recorded brain activities during the conversation.
With this technique, scientists get to know how the words spoken in the conversation and their meanings are recorded in the brain and which parts of the brain are at what time.
Researchers found that when we talk to someone or listen to him, many parts of the brain’s frontal and temporal lobes become active.
The interesting thing is that brain activities change according to every word of conversation and its order. Some brain areas were also found that are active in both while speaking and listening, which shows that some similar brain parts work in both these actions.
Researchers also saw that when a person comes in a position to speak from hearing, there is a clear change in brain activities. This research helps us understand how easy -to -interact is, in fact how complicated the brain is.
