बिहार के बांका में फूड पॉइजनिंग से छह लोग बीमार

Patna, October 8 (IANS). Six people, including five children, fell ill due to food poisoning in Bihar’s Banka district.

This case of falling ill due to food poisoning has come to light from Chaukhat village. All of them had returned home from a fair in Kaindo.

Everyone did not eat food after reaching home. He told that he had come to the fair after having breakfast and he went to sleep.

Later on Tuesday at around 1 pm, he complained of vomiting and diarrhea and was taken to Amarpur Referral Hospital for treatment.

The father of one of the victims, Rajesh Manjhi, spoke about the incident.

The sick people have been identified as Laddu Kumar (12), Sapna Kumari (5), Gopal Kumar (12), Rabina Kumari (6), Gangiya Kumari (13) and Urmila Devi.

When his condition did not improve, he was shifted to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in Bhagalpur.

Apoorva Aman Singh, who treated them at the hospital, confirmed that all the children had symptoms of food poisoning.

Singh said, “The children may have eaten stale food at the fair, due to which they got food poisoning. Despite getting first aid, considering the severity of their symptoms, it became necessary to give them better treatment. Their condition was critical.”

This is not the only incident of food poisoning in Bihar. There have been two more incidents of food poisoning in Bihar in the last 12 days. On September 28, 11 children fell ill after eating contaminated food at an Anganwadi center in Mahuli village in Bihar’s Nawada district. The incident occurred during the mid-day meal at the centre, where ‘Khichdi’ was prepared for the children.

Another incident involving around 70 students occurred at an engineering college in Bettiah, West Champaran, on September 27, where lizards were found in food served in the hostel.
