These are 5 mistakes related to drinking water
1. Drinking too much water at a time
It is also called swallowing water. Often we drink half or one liter of water bottle at an attempt to drink more water. Drinking so much water at a time can affect the kidney. This makes it difficult for the kidneys to work together, affecting their functionality.
2. Drinking cold water
Sometimes drinking cold water is fine, but always drinking cold water like ice is not good for our health. Cold water can neutralize electrolytes in the stomach, which can cause acidity and inflammation. Drinking this water shrinks blood vessels, affecting digestion.
3. Drink water immediately after a meal
Digestion can slow down by drinking water immediately after meals. By doing this it becomes difficult to digest food and you may feel heaviness in the stomach. Water does not help in digesting food, but makes it strict by dissolving it. Water should be drunk half an hour before meals and 40 minutes after meals.
4. Drinking too much water
The body requires sufficient water to maintain hydration level, but drinking too much water can reduce sodium levels in the body, also known as hyponatramia. Drinking more water puts a lot of pressure on the kidneys and damages them. This condition can be severe and affect the function of many body organs. Drinking excess water also reduces minerals like sodium and potassium in the body.
5. Drink water before sleeping.
Some people drink water before bedtime. This habit is not appropriate. By doing this, you will have to get up to go to the washroom again and again, which will affect your sleep. The renal function also slows down at night, so frequent urination can cause dehydration, which increases the risk of kidney stones.
Lack of water is a growing problem.
Ryan says that India is a country where lack of water is no less than a crisis. It is also common for people to suffer from dehydration here, because clean and safe water is less available here. Due to the habit of saving water in India, people forget to drink water, which causes damage to the body. Drinking less water affects heart health and the number of deaths due to heart disease in India is also increasing continuously.
