Ghaziabad, 21 March (IANS). To make Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh TB free, the District TB department is continuously campaigning at the ground level. In this series, a special campaign was started on 31 December 2024, under which more than seven lakh people have been screening so far. TB infection has been confirmed in about six thousand patients during the screening.
This special campaign will continue till 24 March 2025, after which the District TB department will also run a roundup campaign. Under this campaign, screening will also be done by marking those people who have not been able to join the process till now. The goal of the Health Department is to eliminate TB infection in the district and provide proper treatment to every infected patient on time.
It has been told that all necessary medical facilities are being provided by the Health Department to the patients in which TB has been confirmed. Along with this, under the Favor Nutrition Scheme, every patient is being given one thousand rupees per month as nutrition aid, so that their nutritional level is improved and they can be healthy soon.
District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. A.K. Yadav said that a wide campaign is being launched to make Ghaziabad TB free. A large number of potential patients are being identified during this campaign and they are being given immediate treatment. Our goal is to completely eliminate TB in the district.
He said that 7,29,817 people have been screened so far. The World Health Organization has targeted to be TB free by 2030. However, the central government has set a target to make the country TB free by 2025 and is working in that direction. Our goal is to treat more and more people.
