New York, 15 June (IANS). At a time when more emphasis is being given on external health such as physical fitness and beauty. But the real meaning of yoga is in peace inside. A special program is being held in America to remind this. This initiative is taking place at a time when cities around the world are preparing to celebrate International Yoga Day (IDY) on 21 June.
The organizers said in a statement on Sunday that a special program called ‘The Spirit of Yoga’ has been placed at the Global Harmony House in Long Island on June 22. It is hosting it Brahma Kumariz World Spiritual Organization.
Most of the celebrations of International Yoga Day (21 June) focus on physical rugs and impressive public performance of flexibility, the ‘The Spirit of Yoga’ program held in the US is a unique attempt to reconstruct the true soul of yoga and re -focus about its deep spiritual roots.
The program will include many dignitaries, spiritual gurus and practitioners who will provide lively experience of knowledge, inspiration and compound values to about 250 seekers present in the hall, and many people will participate in it through virtual medium.
In New York, India’s Consul General Binaya Srikanth will be the chief guest, who will speak on the gift of yoga given by India to the world in the presence of BK Mohini Didi, Chief Administrative Head of Brahmakumari’s International Organization.
Global Harmony House is a spiritual center that gives people to the atmosphere of peace and feeling yoga. It promotes peace and positivity through meditation and spiritual teachings. This program will give people a chance to understand yoga deeply and convince it.
Gayatri Narayan, an NGO representative of Brahmakumarij to the United Nations, said, “In today’s professional health world, yoga is often limited to fitness. But the real spirit of yoga is about to join its best form and divine through spiritual awareness.”
Parveen Chopra, the co-operative of the program, said, “We are seeing yoga as a way that is based on awareness, self-realization and harmony. In Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga, meditation is most important, asanas are a small part of it.”
