History of temple
The temple was built in the 15th century in the lap of the Aravalli mountain range of Pali district. Its construction started in Vikram Samvat 1446 and it took 50 years to complete. The special thing is that the temple is built on 1444 pillars. Every pillar here is decorated with unique carvings. You will get to see the Chaumukha temple here, which is dedicated to the first Tirthankara Adinath.

How was the construction done?
It is believed that the Ranakpur Jain temple was built by four devotees. Which includes Acharya Shyamsunderji, Dhanna Shah, Rana Kumbha and Depa. According to legend, Dhanna Shah saw a huge vehicle in a dream, after which the construction of this temple was started. Many architects were called to prepare the design of this temple, but in the end the work was assigned to Mundara architect Deepak. A huge, quadrilateral idol of Lord Adinath is installed in the temple, which is 72 inches high. Along with this, two other temples of Jain Tirthankara Lord Neminath and Lord Parshwanath are also located. Ranakpur Jain Temple is famous all over the world for its attractive characteristics and complex marble carvings.
