Health News Desk, Almond is a dry fruit which contains many nutrients. It is rich in proteins, healthy fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Eating almonds daily keeps heart healthy, keeps blood pressure under control and helps in protecting the body from many diseases. But consuming almonds in excess can also cause some harm. Eating 30 to 50 grams of almonds daily is considered sufficient for a healthy adult. Eating almonds in more quantity than this will increase the calorie intake which may lead to weight gain. Additionally, the oxalates present in almonds can accumulate in the kidneys and cause stones.

Know how many almonds you can eat daily
According to the dietitian, if we eat soaked almonds daily, then about 30 to 50 grams i.e. about 7 to 8 almonds should be eaten daily. Almond is a very nutritious and energetic dry fruit. There are approximately 300 calories in 50 grams of almonds. It contains 15 grams of carbohydrate, 12 grams of fat and 6 grams of protein. Talking about vitamins and minerals, Vitamin E, Vitamin B6, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin etc. are found in almonds.

Many nutrients like protein, healthy fat, fiber, vitamins etc. are found in abundance in almonds which are very beneficial for health. But a compound called oxalate is also found in almonds which can increase the formation of kidney stones. Eating almonds in large quantities increases the amount of oxalate in the body. Oxalate accumulates in the kidneys and forms crystals that cause stones.

There are many health benefits of eating almonds but eating it in excess is harmful for the digestive system. High amount of fiber is found in almonds. Consuming excessive amounts of fiber can cause problems like stomach gas, pain and indigestion. Apart from this, almonds also contain oxalate which can affect the digestive system.
