Patna, 26 May (IANS). Two suspected cases of Kornavirus have been reported in a private hospital on Bailey Road in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Such a case has increased the concern in health administration due to coming to the fore after a year.
According to a hospital official, both patients came to OPD four days ago with a complaint of cold, cough, fever and difficulty in breathing.
The investigation saw a decline in the oxygen level of both, after which the hospital conducted the Kovid-19 test.
One of these patients was admitted to the hospital due to critical condition, while the other patient has been cured by external treatment.
The hospital has informed the Civil Surgeon Office and District Health Officers are being contacted to confirm both cases.
Confirming this, Civil Surgeon Dr. Avinash Kumar Singh said, “We are in touch with the hospital. Appropriate action will be taken after the results of the investigation.”
A senior doctor at the hospital revealed that in recent times, three to four patients came up with similar symptoms, including difficulty in breathing, but refused to conduct the Kovid-19 test despite medical advice.
After such a long gap in Patna, the district health system has become alert due to the emergence of Corona virus. Monitoring and preventive measures are expected to be tightened in hospitals and public sectors.
Bihar Health Department is assessing the status. If more cases come up, the department can release updated testing guidelines.
People have been appealed not to ignore the symptoms like flu and conduct a test on the advice of the doctor. Hospitals have also been instructed to be vigilant and immediate information about any suspicious case.
