Lucknow, 21 June (IANS). On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2025, under the theme of “Ek Earth, Yoga for Health” became a witness to the grand confluence of Raj Bhavan Yoga, Science and Culture in Lucknow. In this collective yoga practice organized under the inspiration of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, there was a glimpse of the sage tradition, while scientific evidence also clarity of modern health consciousness.
In this yoga program organized under the direction of trained Yogacharyas in the green lawn of Raj Bhavan, the Governor himself attended Yogasan, Pranayama and meditation with the seekers. He said that “Yoga is not only physical exercise, but it is the path of lifestyle, spiritual discipline and collective welfare.” On this occasion, the National Yoga ceremony organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Visakhapatnam was also lived, which was watched by all the participants with concentration.
Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, “Yoga Sangam” program was celebrated at more than 3.5 lakh places across the country, in which about 5 lakh people performed collective yoga. The Governor said in his address that yoga sessions were held daily in Raj Bhavan from June 1 to June 20, in which students, citizens, officers and employees enthusiastically attended.
He said that “Do not consider yoga to be one day’s activity, make it your habit, our lifestyle. We want a healthy society, not a hospital and that is possible only when yoga and balanced life is a part of our daily behavior.”
Also, he also informed that the Raj Bhavan campus is open from 5 to 8 in the morning and 5 to 7 pm for ordinary citizens. Along with yoga, he also emphasized on sports and nutrition
Uttar Pradesh’s AYUSH and Food Safety Minister Dr. Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’ said that “Yoga has become a part of world consciousness today due to continuous efforts of the Prime Minister. It is a bridge between the soul and the body, which lays the foundation of balance and harmony.”
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, there was a wonderful confluence of yoga, practice and social participation in Gorakhpur. Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Auditorium was packed with yoga practitioners, where public representatives, saints, students, doctors and common people were together in the association of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The specialty of the event was the participation of popular MP of Gorakhpur, Ravi Kishan Shukla, who performed yoga with the Chief Minister sharing the stage. He described yoga as the science of the Indian soul and said, “Yoga purifies not only the body, not only the thoughts. It is such an invaluable gift of India’s soil, which the whole world now salutes. Yoga connects us from within, makes us aware.”
In his address, Chief Minister Yogi described Yoga as the pride of the sage tradition of India and said, “Yoga has got global recognition today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is not just exercise, not just an Indian life philosophy, which is the path of welfare of humanity.”
Cabinet Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, Municipal Corporation officials, students, doctors, voluntary organizations and a large number of citizens attended the program. Under the leadership of trained Yogacharyas, all the participants practiced yogasanas like Tadasana, Vajrasana, Anulom-Vilom and Kapalabhati. Finally a collective resolution was taken, ‘To adopt yoga in daily life, to make society healthy, and to move towards the goal of’ Western India, Samarth Bharat ‘.’
