Dehradun, August 30 (IANS). The health department in Dehradun has become alert regarding the cases of dengue in the rainy season. The Municipal Corporation has also started preparations for prevention. Awareness campaigns are being run for this.
Health Secretary Rajesh Kumar gave this information on Friday. He said that so far 12 cases of dengue have been reported across the state, out of which 10 patients have recovered. One patient is admitted in the hospital and is undergoing treatment, while one patient has been kept in home isolation.
He said that compared to the last several years, this time there has been a significant decrease in dengue cases. The reason for this is the increasing awareness about dengue among the public. There has been a very good coordination between the district administration, health department and municipal corporation. Steps are being taken to prevent dengue. Micro containment zones have been created, under which a source reduction policy has been made.
Health Secretary Rajesh Kumar said that the rainy season is not over yet. Therefore, we need to remain alert in the coming times as well. We will continue the work we have been doing to prevent dengue.
It is worth noting that the risk of diseases caused by mosquitoes increases during the rainy season. Dengue is the most devastating disease in this. Dengue is a dangerous infection that spreads among humans due to mosquito bites. If a person suffers from dengue, he complains of high fever, headache, body pain, pain in muscles and joints, pain behind the eyes, vomiting and skin rashes.
As soon as the symptoms of dengue appear, doctors detect dengue by doing a blood test of the affected person. Ignoring dengue can cause serious problems in the body. Every year hundreds of people die due to dengue. Therefore, it is very important to get proper treatment for dengue at the right time.
