New Delhi, 26 May (IANS). The rainy season in Ayurveda is considered a challenging time for health. Cold increases in this season. People eat more oil foods to enjoy this season. In such a situation, the digestive power of the body i.e. fire becomes weak. At the same time, due to increased moisture in the environment, Vata Dosha increases and there may be dryness, pain and restlessness in the body. At the same time, bile defects also accumulate, which is associated with the heat and digestion of our body. This can cause heat, irritation and stomach problems in the body. Therefore, the right diet, right routine and vigilance are very important in this season so that the body can remain healthy and balanced.

Due to reduced digestive power and increasing vata-bile defects, our body becomes weak during the rainy season, in such a situation, the chances of imbalance in the body increases. The risk of infection and digestive problems are seen more. Therefore, more emphasis has been laid on seasonal diet in Ayurveda’s ‘Ritucharya’.

As the weather changes, our body also changes. Ayurveda believes that if we mold our body according to the change of these seasons, then we can avoid diseases and maintain good health.

According to ‘Ritucharya’, diet is considered very important during the rainy season, because what you are eating affects your digestive power. Eat light, hot and digestible food in this season. Avoid eating heavy, cold and oil. Eat fresh and clean food by avoiding eating more fried food. Sushruta and Charak Samhita recommends useful behavior.

It is also necessary to change your routine in the rainy season so that the body remains healthy. Do exercise or yoga during the day so that Vata Dosha is controlled. Do not wear soaked clothes for a long time, it can cause cold and cold. Keep the body dry and warm. If you are getting cold, then take a bath with hot water. Do not stay in the rain for a long time because it can weaken the body.

Get adequate sleep of 7-8 hours daily and avoid stress as it can also increase vata and bile. If the cold is feeling, then massage the sesame or mustard oil.

Maintain hygiene around you, so that insects, spatter and diseases do not spread. Eat fruits and vegetables by washing it thoroughly. Always keep the feet clean and dry, as the risk of fungal infection increases with wet legs.

If possible, take a bath with lukewarm or warm water, because cold water is likely to increase Vata dosha. Take a bath by putting neem or basil leaves in bath water, it does not cause germs and infections on the skin.
