The number of patients with vitamin D deficiency has increased rapidly in India these days. However, people still do not take this health problem seriously or ignore. Recently, a study conducted by ICRIR and Anvka Foundation revealed that every fifth Indian Vitamin D is struggling with deficiency. This problem is of different levels in different parts of the country, but its condition is the worst in eastern India, where about 39% of people were found to be suffering from this deficiency. In such a situation, we talked to Managing Director Dr. Ashish Chaudhary in Akash Healthcare. He told that why people in our country are struggling with this vitamin deficiency, who is at the most danger and what should be done to protect?

Dr. Ashish Chaudhary Vitamin D deficiency is a silent epidemic. This is not just the problem of bones, but also affects the immune system of the entire body, ie the immune system and can cause many serious diseases. This affects not only on personal health, but also on the healthcare system and economic status of the entire country.


Who are the most affected?


Children, teenagers, pregnant women and elderly Vitamini D deficiency are rapidly vulnerable. Vitamin D deficiency in women has been seen more than men. In addition, this problem in urban areas is more serious than in rural areas.


These problems related to health:


Vitamin D deficiency affects not only bones, but the whole body is affected. This causes problems such as rickets in children and bones in adults. Along with this, muscle weakness, fatigue, mood fluctuations and depression can also occur. This deficiency can also increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes and certain types of cancer.


How will vitamin D deficiency be complete?


To meet vitamin D deficiency, first increase the intake of milk, curd in your diet. Take sunlight between 7 am and 8 o’clock in the morning. Increase the fortification of vitamin D in daily foods like oil and grains. Along with this, awareness campaign should be launched on a large scale about vitamin D. When people know about the side effects of its deficiency, they will be careful about their health.
