New York, 20 April (IANS). A new study has shown that stress -staged conditions can be artificially created through virtual and aggravated reality (VR/AR) technology, which can practice measures to relieve stress.
We often face such situations in everyday life that we find it very stressful – such as presenting an important work, going to a party full of strangers or having a difficult conversation with someone closely. At such a time, talking to a friend or psychologist can be beneficial. But it can also be very helpful to practice in advance to deal with stress.
Scientists at the Carnegie Mellone University in the US started a similar project, in which people were used to deal with stress using VR/AR technology.
This research was led by Anna Fong of the ‘Human-Computer Interaction Institute’. He tested this technique on 19 people, most of which considered it useful and effective.
Anna Fong said that in the last 10-20 years, VR and AR technology have played a big role in the fields of health and mental health. Today many meditation and meditation apps are also available for download.
Researchers created a total of 24 types of designs for three different stressful situations. Some of them were completely virtual reality based, some were mixed, and some only worked without any visual signal through text. Each design had different types of participation and reaction options.
Research showed that people understand themselves better by using this technology and develop a sense of self -sufficiency. He liked a technique that would help them learn something from themselves, not only give information.
Research also revealed that the participants felt better when they were given the option to seek suggestions from technology, instead of getting suggestions on their own. People also wanted them to take these VR headsets to any place, so that they could mold and practice themselves in different stressful environment.
In the next phase, the research team is planning to make these virtual characters more real and will add features to them that they can speak naturally. This will make people find the conversation more comfortable and real.
