New Delhi, 15 June (IANS). You must have heard many times the advice to do yoga with the first ray of the morning, but have you ever wondered why it is necessary for Yogasan to stay on an empty stomach? Yoga experts and health gurus believe that doing yoga on an empty stomach not only makes your body agile, but also gives mental peace and plenty of energy.
Yoga 4 Life co-founder and yoga trainer Kavita Arora told why should one stay on an empty stomach during Yogasan. He said, “There is pressure on the stomach while doing yoga and if you do yoga after eating, then due to this pressure, food starts coming up from the grasanley and there can be many problems in the body. Like gastric problems, acidity, sour belching etc.”
He further said, “Doing yoga immediately after a meal can not only disrupt the digestive process but also causes many problems due to this. It is primary rule that the body’s energy is imposed on digestion after eating food. But, if we start exercising, if we start exercising, the same energy is applied, the effect of which can be negative, then there is no reason to eat, when there is a lot of stomach, there is a lot of reason. The posture cannot be done well. “
Experts of Ayurveda and Yoga believe that when we eat food, the energy of the body is engaged in digestion. In such a situation, the flexibility and concentration required for yoga asanas is affected. By doing yogasan on an empty stomach, all the energy of the body is engaged in rugs and pranayama, which improves blood circulation and gives oxygen to the organs.
The benefits of yogasan are clear from the scientific point of view. After eating food, blood flow in the stomach is focused for digestion. If you do yoga or asanas during this time, there may be pressure on the stomach, which can cause indigestion, nausea or discomfort. By doing yoga on an empty stomach, the body remains light and it increases flexibility and muscle strength.
However, experts believe that Vajrasana must be done for 5 to 10 minutes after eating food. He further explained, “Gap should be kept for at least three to three and a half hours. For example, if you have lunch at two in the afternoon, do yoga between five and six in the evening. Then there will be no difficulty with it. It will not affect the digestive process either.
