In such a situation, Tanya Khanna, a nutritionist and yoga trainer in ALYVE Health located in Mumbai, is telling how bad the sedantry lifestyle is affecting the health of women?
These problems can be caused by sedentary lifestyle:
Problems related to hormonal imbalance and period: Inactive lifestyle slows down metabolism in the body, causing hormonal imbalance. This can cause problems like irregular periods, PCOs, thyroid problems and mood swings.
Fatigue and lack of energy: Due to continuous sitting, blood circulation in the body slows down. This causes the supply of oxygen to reach the limbs, which makes tiredness, lethargy and laziness throughout the day. Women have to handle both home and work, so low energy reduces their functionality
Danger of obesity and metabolic desires: When the body’s calorie consumption is low, weight increases. This increases the risk of diseases like abdominal fat, fat around the waist, and diabetes, high BP, cholesterol – which can become the root of women’s long -term health problems.
Bones and muscles weakness: Sitting continuously decreases the bones and the muscles begin to loose. In women, the chances of osteoporosis (weakening of bones) increase in women. This process intensifies without physical activity
Negative effects on mental health: Stable lifestyle can cause depression, anxiety, and a decrease in confidence. Physical activity activates not only the body but also the brain and promotes positive hormones
Sleep starts to decrease: Due to lack of physical activity, the amount of sleep hormone decreases, which hinders sleep. Lack of sleep increases hormonal disturbances and fatigue even more
Reduction in fertility: Women who remain inactive for a long time may deteriorate the balance of hormones associated with fertility. It can cause difficulty in conception
How to keep yourself healthy?
The energy, self -confidence and functionality of women depend on their physical and mental health. Therefore, not only diseases can be avoided by adopting an active lifestyle, but new energy and positivity can also be brought in life.
Walk or yoga at least 30 minutes daily.
Avoid sitting for a long time – walk 5 minutes every 1 hour.
Adopt stretching or desk exercises at the workplace.
Keep the body active with activities like dance, domestic work, use of stairs.
Priority to meditation, pranayama and deep sleep for mental health
