Puri, 4 February (IANS). On the occasion of World Cancer Day, famous sand artist Manas Sahu made a wonderful sand statue near the Lighthouse Beach near Srihari Hotel. Through this idol, he tried to prevent cancer and spread awareness about it.
This art of Manas Sahu gave a powerful message, in which he appealed to the people to stay away from tobacco, gutkha and other harmful substances. He said that these substances are the main causes of cancer and it is very important to avoid them healthy and clean society. It took Manas Sahu seven hours to complete this huge sand statue and this statue is about seven feet high.
About 22 tons of sand was used to make this statue. Finely artwork and its size on the idol attracted the attention of tourists and locals and it became a major attraction.
Talking to IANS, Manas Sahu said that on the beach of Puri, we have created a sand art on World Cancer Day. It is a great medium to spread awareness among people about cancer. Through this art, we are making people aware. This time the theme of WHO is ‘United for Aks stay’. He said that it is our responsibility to maintain a healthy society and keep ourselves away from tobacco and drugs.
Sahu further said that through this art we want to tell that if we stay away from tobacco, paan, gutka and alcohol, then it is possible to build a healthy society and we can also avoid cancer. In addition, he also advised that if someone feels any unusual symptoms in the body, he should immediately examine the doctor. He gave this message, identifying the early symptoms of cancer and explaining the importance of timely treatment.
