The government is trying its best to cure people by bringing different types of world-class treatment practices to India to deal with fatal diseases like cancer in the country. In this series, the cancer lumps are being treated by giving revolutionary changes in the treatment of Gujarat Cancer and Research Center (GCRI) cancer in Ahmedabad.
For this, state -of -the -art machines are being used in the institute, including three lenier accelerators, one cobalt (Bhabhatron), an iridium, 4D CT simulator and one conventional (X -ray simulator). These machines have been brought to the institute at a cost of Rs 95 crore, where trained physician and technician teams are treating patients.
According to the health department of the state government, Gujarat is the only state in the country to provide such facility in a government hospital. Surgery is also performed in the civil hospital with the help of robots. GCRI has installed cyberniff radiosurgery machines of Rs 38 crore, which is capable of eliminating lumps ranging from 5 mm to 3 cm of cancer with minimal side effects. This machine is available only across the country in the government hospital in Gujarat (GCRI). In addition, GCRI also has modern features such as Trubim Lenkin (one type of radiotherapy treatment system) and tomotherapy.
Cyberniff radiosurgery technology is effective in accurate treatment of cancer lumps in sensitive organs such as brain, lungs, liver, spinal cord and prostate by giving high dose radiation. This technique causes less damage to healthy tissues. Along with the accuracy of cyberniff radiosurgery stereotactic radio surgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), very small lumps are also targeted, causing the treatment of patients to be completed in one to five days and they are in the hospital for more time There is no need to remain admitted.
Rapid arc technique of True Beam Leanier Exceliter is effective in treating diseases such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, lungs, head and throat cancer. It has the ability to give radiation by targeting the tumor depending on the patient’s respiratory system, which reduces side effects and does not harm other organs.
Tomotherapy technology treats the tumor layer by layer, which does not cause overdose and underdose problems. It is helpful in the treatment of large and complex lumps and is especially effective in cases of children cancer and recurrence of cancer.
The cost of treatment has also decreased due to this state -of -the -art technology. While other machines used to cost such treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, now it has become possible for only 75 thousand rupees. The special thing is that Ayushman card holders will get the benefit of this facility for free, which will provide relief to the economically weaker sections.
Speaking to IANS, Dr. Vinay Tiwari at GCRI said, “The treatment for Ayushman card holders is absolutely free. For those who do not have a card, the cost is also very low, only 75,000 rupees, while in private hospitals it comes in millions. It is like two to five lakh rupees. The cost of treatment is only 75,000 rupees. It takes one and a half to two weeks. “
