New Delhi, 5 June (IANS). On the occasion of World Environment Day, Union Ministers have called for stopping plastic pollution. The ministers on Thursday urged citizens to abolish plastic pollution and adopt stability. During this, he also appealed to plant more trees for green and clean future.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June. The aim of this year’s theme ‘Plastic pollution’ aims to eliminate plastic pollution.
Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav said in a post on the social media platform X, “Today we are celebrating Environment Day, let us express our commitment to protect our planet and ensure stability for all living beings. Always remember that nature is safe only when it is preserved.”
At the same time, Union Consumer Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said, “Come on World Environment Day, let us renew your commitment to plant more trees, reduce pollution, conserve resources and to protect the planet by adopting stability. Together, together, our small steps can create a greenery, healthy and more hopeful future for all.”
It is noteworthy that according to an estimate, 11 million tonnes of plastic waste globally seeps into the ecosystem associated with water each year, while the use of plastic in agricultural products accumulates in the soil from the microplastic stool and landfill.
Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) Jitendra Singh said that India reiterates its strong commitment to defeat plastic pollution through active policies and public awareness. Together, let us restore the ecosystem, conserve biodiversity and create a greenery, clean future.
Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirti Vardhan Singh said, “Let us take a pledge on this Environment Day – stop plastic pollution, harmonize with nature and build more green, clean and safe earth for future generations.”
United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres said, “Plastic pollution is dying of our planet. Ecosystem, welfare and damage to climate. Plastic waste blocks rivers, pollutes the sea and endanger wildlife.”
