विश्व फिजियोथेरेपी दिवस : पीठ दर्द को कम करने के लिए रामबाण है फिजियोथेरेपी

New Delhi, September 8 (IANS). Nowadays, due to the hectic life, the lifestyle of people is changing rapidly. Due to this, people often have problems of pain in their neck, waist and knees. During this time, we remember the physiotherapist more than the doctor. 8 September is being celebrated as ‘World Physiotherapy Day’, the purpose of which is to make people understand the important contribution of physiotherapists and the benefits of physiotherapy.

The theme of ‘World Physiotherapy Day’ in 2024 is ‘Lower back pain and the role of physiotherapy in its management’. This year’s theme is very important to explain the problem of back pain and the importance of physiotherapy in its solution.

Physiotherapy is a paramedical field that is committed to maintaining physical activities smoothly without medicines. For the problems that come under the scope of physiotherapy, therapists provide treatment to people according to the problems of the body through various techniques.

With time, the techniques of physiotherapy have changed a lot all over the world. At present, techniques like electrotherapy, laser, microwave, ultrasonic wave, manual therapy are being used in physiotherapy.

World Physiotherapy Day was started on 8 September 1996 by the World Physiotherapy Organization. The World Physiotherapy Organization is a body that represents all physiotherapists globally. It was founded on 8 September 1951. Since 1996, this day is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm, which has also increased awareness about physiotherapy among people.

The good thing is that the side effects of physiotherapy are almost negligible. At present, the scope of physiotherapy is not limited to clinics or hospitals, but its demand has increased rapidly especially in sports. Physios have played a very important role in the rehab of many players of the Indian cricket team. Similarly, physiotherapy has become an important part of the support staff in other sports as well.

Nowadays, exercises like yoga and running have become quite popular among people to stay fit in the modern lifestyle, but doing them without proper advice can cause pain in knees and joints. Therefore, it is advisable to exercise after consulting a physiotherapist. Along with this, the advice of a physiotherapist becomes very important in limiting the use of mobile and computer and maintaining correct body posture.
