Lucknow, January 19 (IANS). The 100-day intensive TB campaign being run by the Yogi government in the state has reached every person. More than ten thousand Nikshay Mitras joining the campaign in a month and distributing nutrition packets to the patients is a testimony to this. So far 26,891 at-risk patients have been identified in this campaign. The special thing is that out of these, more than 15 thousand patients have been found from those 60 districts, where the campaign has started from January 1 following the instructions of the Chief Minister.
After the recent promise by Lucknow Municipal Corporation councilors to support the campaign, there are high hopes of further involvement of the community. Initiative has also been taken to connect all the community radios across the state with the campaign. Director General Dr. Ratan Pal Singh Suman has described the commendable efforts as a great initiative to connect with the community. He said that so far 26,891 TB patients have been discovered in this campaign which started from December 7. All these are patients in risk category. Of these, 11,492 patients have been found in the 15 districts from where the campaign was started and 15,399 patients have been found in the remaining 60 districts.
Dr. Ratanpal said that during this 100-day campaign, the target is to cover approximately 2 crore 37 lakh people from the at-risk group. Out of this, 89 lakh 49 thousand 329 people i.e. 38 percent of the population have been screened.
The Director General said that screening and awareness work of TB patients was done by organizing 1,75,000 Nikshay camps, out of which 18,178 Nikshay camps were organized by 52 Nikshay vehicles. On an average, 3,765 Nikshay camps were organized daily. He said that during the campaign, 89 lakh NAT tests and 1.60 lakh X-rays were done for screening.
State Tuberculosis Officer said that Sitapur is on top in terms of finding patients. Maximum 1394 patients have been found there so far. TB patients have been registered in Siddharthnagar (1085) at second place, Agra (1034) at third place, Basti (1022) at fourth place and Rampur (1020) at fifth place. The districts with the least number of patients are Shravasti (42), Santaravidas Nagar (49), Chitrakoot (59) and Mahoba (59).
