Lucknow, 6 May (IANS). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government in Uttar Pradesh is fully committed to the state to remove starvation, child malnutrition and get sustainable food security. The ‘Sambhav’ campaign was launched in the year 2021 under the guidance of CM Yogi to achieve these goals of sustainable development. Its four stages have been completed, UP has recorded a significant improvement in the level of maternal and infant in the year 2024.
According to the report, 65 percent of the serious intense malnourished (SAM) children of the state have come to normal condition. Whereas, 16 percent of the children have come into the position of the middle rapid malnourished (mam) children from the Sam situation.
According to the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, to make the possible campaign more effective, a pilot project of Chief Minister Suffan Abhiyan is also being run in aspirational districts, which is preparing to run in the entire state in the coming time.
CM Yogi Adityanath’s government launched a ‘possible’ campaign in the year 2021 with the central government schemes to overcome malnutrition and starvation from the state. Its main objective was to achieve the Sustainable Development Lakshya-2 and ensure sustainable food security in the state. The State Child Development Services and Nutrition Department presented the report of the success of four phases of the ‘possible’ campaign to the Chief Minister. The concerned officials of the department said that the state has achieved the expected success under the ‘possible’ campaign.
On the one hand, in these four years, 1.7 crore children were examined by technological innovation, training and accurate monitoring, with cases of 1.8 lakh intense malnourished children (SAM), out of which 65 percent of Sam cases have been in normal condition by the end of the year. Whereas, 16 percent of the cases have come into a medium rapid malnourished (mam) position from the Sam situation. Along with this, special attention was also paid to pregnant women, resulting in the Majoring Effects of pregnant women have increased from 6 percent to 51 percent.
The ‘possible’ campaign has shown positive impact in all 8 aspirational districts of the state. The success of the successful operation of the ‘Sambhav’ campaign is that the children of aspirational districts have also improved the cases of stunting, underweight and wasting. However, in view of the situation of malnutrition among children in these districts, the pilot project of ‘Chief Minister Suppling Abhiyan’ is being run as per the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath. Under this, nutritious self-interest is being provided to children from 3 to 6 years of age through ‘tech home ration’, in which 400 calories and 15-20 grams of protein are being given to targeted children daily.
Along with this, Anganwadi workers collect information about the nutritional level of children from time to time. CM Yogi has given instructions to implement the ‘Chief Minister’s Suppling Campaign’ in the entire state in the coming years, for which the State Child Service Development and Nutrition Department is preparing an action plan, soon this campaign will be run at the state level.
