“Significant progress was achieved in security and crime control in Jammu region in 2024,” the spokesperson said. This year, 14 foreign terrorists have been killed on the anti-terrorism front.

Police said 13 terrorist ‘modules’ were busted across the area. “These ‘modules’ were active across the Jammu region, including one each in Rajouri and Reasi, two each in Poonch and Kathua, three in Udhampur and four in Doda,” the spokesperson said.

The official said the elimination of these foreign terrorists has dealt a deep blow to the ‘networks’ attempting to disrupt peace and stability in the region.

“Action was taken against ‘Overground Workers’ (OGWs), 827 persons were taken as compared to 282 last year,” the spokesperson said. “180 persons were detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA), while 168 were detained in 2023.”

There has been a significant decline in petty crimes in the Jammu region, where 13,163 criminal cases were registered in 2024 compared to 15,774 the year before.

The spokesperson said this is a result of the tireless efforts of the police personnel in maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety in the entire area.
