OLA has recently unveiled its first B2B i.e. business-to-business electric scooter in the Indian market. This scooter is available in two variants – Gig and Gig+. While the Gig is priced at Rs 39,999, the Gig+ is priced at Rs 49,999. The OLA Gig is specifically designed for commercial use with a large single seat and a spacious carrier to provide more space for the rider.
The new OLA scooter is equipped with drum brakes at both ends and uses a telescopic front fork. Its base model, OLA Gig, comes with a 250-watt motor and offers a top speed of 25 kilometers per hour. Due to this speed, it can be driven on the road without any registration. This scooter is considered to be a rival to the Yulu model which has proven itself in metro cities.
OLA Gig+ has a powerful 1.5 kWh motor, which can achieve a top speed of 45 kmph, hence it will need to be registered for use on road. Both variants have a single removable 1.5 kWh battery pack. With Gig+, customers can also opt for two battery packs, increasing the range from 81 to 157 km.
The starting system of the scooter is app-based and OLA claims that its charging time is very short. However, specific details regarding charging have not been given yet. As of now, OLA has only shared digital render images. Physical details of the scooter such as seat height, curb weight, load-carrying capacity and wheel size have not been made public yet. Delivery of the scooter will start from April 2025.
