16 constituents of the opposition ‘India’ alliance wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urging that the Pahalgam terror attack, ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the US to call a special session to discuss issues related to the announcement of ‘ceasefire’.
Leaders of Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP), Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena (Ubatha) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) gave information about this after the meeting here.
In the Lok Sabha, Congress, SP, Trinamool Congress, DMK, Shiv Sena (Ubatha), RJD, National Conference, Marxist Communist Party (CPI -M), Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Communist Party of India (CPI), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (Jhamoomo), VCK and VC The letter has been signed by the leaders of the House of MDMK.
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav are among the leaders who signed this letter.
After the meeting, Congress MP Deepender Hooda told reporters, “16 political parties of India alliance have written a letter to Prime Minister Modi that a special session of Parliament should be called. During the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the conflict between India and Pakistan, all opposition parties stood in support of our armed forces and the Government of India.
He said, “When the US announced the ceasefire, we demanded that a special session of Parliament be called so that all parties can thank our armed forces and the government should speak the points wise.”
Hooda said that various topics should be discussed in Parliament from Pahalgam terrorist attack to ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the US declaration of ceasefire.
He said, “How to eliminate terrorism-we should discuss this and our further strategy in Parliament.” Now that the Indian government is putting its views in front of the world, I think the government should do the same in Parliament.
Trinamool Congress leader Derek Obreon said, “The government is responsible for Parliament, Parliament is responsible to the people.” Therefore, we are demanding to call a special session of Parliament. ”
Senior SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav said, “We want to know from the government which countries supported us. Not a single country came out openly in support of India. This is worrisome. We failed on the diplomatic front. Our army deserves congratulations. ”
Taking a sarcasm, he said, “US President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire,” the so -called friend of the Prime Minister announced the ceasefire … The public feels that we were forced to ceasefire. Shiv Sena (Ubatha) leader Sanjay Raut said, “This is not a normal letter. The opposition is the real voice of the public. We want a special session to discuss whatever has happened in the country so far.
He said that if a ceasefire can be held on the suggestion of President Trump, then why can’t a special session be called even after repeated requests from the opposition?
Raut taunted and asked, “Will we have to go to President Trump for a special session?”
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) did not attend the opposition meeting, although he will write separate letters to the Prime Minister regarding the demand for a special session.
When asked in the context of AAP, Obreon said, “Our understanding is that by six o’clock on Wednesday evening, the Aam Aadmi Party will write a letter to the Prime Minister on the same issue, equal sentiment and equal subject matter demanding to call a special session.”
Another major component of the ‘India’ alliance, the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) has not signed the letter. Sanjay Raut said that Supriya Sule, the leader of this party in the Lok Sabha, is not in the country due to being a part of the delegation that went abroad.
Raut said, “Sharad Pawar Saheb is also with us. The letter is signed by the leaders of the House of the parties. Supriya Sule is currently part of the delegation that went abroad. When I go to Mumbai, I will talk to Sharad Pawar. ”
Since the Pahalgam terror attack, many opposition parties, including the Congress, have been demanding a special session of Parliament.
In recent times, the Congress has said that an all -party meeting should be called under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and special session of Parliament should be called to salute the bravery of the Army and repeat the 1994 proposal and repeat the proposal of the Parliament of the 1994 Parliament and question the government on certain points.
The Trinamool Congress has suggested that sessions should be held in June after all -party delegations traveling to various countries to explain India’s attitude against terrorism.
