Recently, 23 new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in Delhi, causing the Health Department to be alert. Health Minister Pankaj Singh said that these cases have been registered between May 12 to 22. The government is investigating whether these patients are residents of Delhi or have come from outside.
Given this situation, the Delhi government has issued an advice to all government and private hospitals, asking hospitals to ensure the availability of beds, oxygen, essential medicines and vaccines. In addition, all positive samples have been instructed to send the Lok Nayak Hospital for genome sequencing.
According to health experts, the situation is currently under control and does not need to panic. Dr. Suranjit Chatterjee, Senior Advisor to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, said that “Currently, the situation is under control. Most cases are mild and there is no need to hospitalize in the hospital.”
However, the Delhi government has instructed hospitals to be vigilant and ensure availability of necessary resources as a precaution. It is advisable to wear masks in public places and maintain hands hygiene.
The health department is keeping an eye on the status and further action will be taken as required.
