3 new railway lines have been approved. Jamshedpur, Purlia, Asansol and Bargarh etc. will be able to be reached through the new route.

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved three new railway line projects at a cost of Rs 6456 crore, which are targeted to be completed by 2028-29. Around 114 lakh man days of employment will be generated during these projects.

Description of the projects:

Jamshedpur-Purlia-Asansol new rail line: Length: 121 km Cost: Rs 2170 crore Sardega-Bhalumunda double new rail line: Length: 37 km Cost: Rs 1360 crore Bargarh Road-Nawapara new rail line: Length: 138 km Cost: Rs 2926 crore

Multi-tracking:

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that these multi-tracking projects will improve the connectivity of Indian Railways, which will reduce the cost of travel and freight. There will be less congestion of trains on busy sections like Howrah-Mumbai and the speed of trains will also increase.

Beneficiary areas:

These projects will directly benefit seven districts in four states of Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. Under this project, 14 new stations will be constructed and rail connectivity will be provided to 1300 villages and 11 lakh people.

Appreciation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the decision to approve these railway projects and said that these projects will prove to be very beneficial for these states.
