New Delhi. A major accident has happened in Meerut, western Uttar Pradesh. A three-storey house has collapsed in Zakir Colony located in Lohia Nagar police station area here. More than 10 people are feared to be trapped under the debris. A large number of local people along with the police and fire brigade team are also engaged in relief and rescue work. State CM Yogi Adityanath has also taken cognizance of the incident. According to the CMO of Meerut, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to provide proper treatment to the injured in this accident. Along with this, the CM has also asked the top officials to reach the spot and expedite the relief work. The Chief Minister has also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

According to the police, this incident took place in lane number 8 of Zakir Colony. Here Nimmo Ghazi’s house suddenly collapsed. It is being told that the house was old and it collapsed due to heavy rains for the last two days. According to the local people, there was a dairy running below the house which has collapsed. Therefore, there is a possibility that some animals may also be buried in the debris. Due to drizzle and narrow streets, bulldozers and other big machines are not able to reach the spot to remove the debris, due to which there is a problem in the relief work. Rescue work is also being hampered due to darkness. The NDRF and SDRF teams have been informed. Soon both these teams will also reach the spot and take charge. Till the time of writing the news, the number of injured or dead in this incident could not be known. Meerut Division Commissioner Selva Kumari J, SSP Vipin Tada, SP City Ayush Vikram Singh are present at the spot.
