The construction work of the 51-foot tall statue of Lord Ram in Chandausi town of Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh is nearing completion and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to unveil the statue in February.
In this statue being built in the Ramlila ground of Ram Bagh Dham, Lord Ram will be seen holding a bow in one hand and giving blessings with the other hand.
Ram Bagh Dham Trust President Ashok Kumar Fancy said that the construction of the 51-feet high statue of Lord Ram is going on daily from May 31, 2023.
He said, “The statue is almost complete now, only the painting work is left. It is expected to be completely ready by February 2025.
Highlighting the unique features of the statue, Amit Kumar KS, Secretary, Ram Bagh Dham Trust, said that this grand and divine statue of Lord Ram will be the tallest statue of its kind in the country.
“This idol is unique because Lord Ram is looking downwards, which is a symbol of humility,” he said. He is holding a bow in one hand and giving blessings with the other hand. There is an Ashoka Vatika around the statue, as well as statues of Hanuman and Garuda. We have written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath requesting him to inaugurate the statue and we hope that this event will happen soon.
Amit Kumar Appu, vice president of Ramlila Parishad at Ram Bagh Dham, said, “When the construction of Ram temple started in Ayodhya, we thought of installing the tallest statue of Lord Ram at Ram Bagh Dham in Chandausi.”
He said that so far around Rs 25 lakh has been spent on the construction. Apart from this, a circumambulation path has been made around the statue, so that devotees can circumambulate Lord Ram and pay respect to him.
According to the trust members, after the construction of the statue, the reputation of Chandausi as a spiritual center will increase.
