Doctor and 5 laborers killed in terrorist attack in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. Five people have been badly injured. The victims include both local and non-local labourers. Officials said that terrorists opened fire on the camp of workers of a private company working on the construction of the tunnel in Gund area of the district. The incident occurred four days after the swearing-in of the new government in the Union Territory. The workers who were attacked were said to be part of the construction team working on the Z Mode Tunnel, which connects Gagner to Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
In a post on Twitter, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the incident that took place in Gagangir area of Sonamarg area. The National Conference (NC) leader also said that the number of casualties in the incident could increase.
He said, “The number of casualties in the Gagangir attack is not final as many laborers, both local and non-local, have been injured.
