The helicopter crash near Gaurikund in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand will investigate the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). ‘Aryan Aviation Bell 407’ Helicopter ‘VT-BKA crashed near Kedarnath on Sunday morning.
The official statement said, “Five devotees, an infant and a crew member were killed in the accident. The helicopter flew from Guptkashi at 5.10 am and landed on the helipad at 5.18 am. The helicopter flew again for Guptkashi at 5.19 am and crashed near Gaurikund. ‘
Those killed include five pilgrims, pilots and an employee of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee. The statement issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation said that the accident would be investigated by AAIB.
As a precautionary measure, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has already reduced the helicopters for Char Dham. The statement said that monitoring is being increased for further action and the campaign is being reviewed.
