Various airlines received threats
Indian airlines have recently received several false bomb threats. On this matter, officials of aviation security body Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) met representatives of airlines companies at their headquarters in Delhi on Saturday. During the meeting, airline representatives discussed the problems being faced due to fake bomb threats with BCAS Director General Zulfikar Hasan. Airlines companies also told them that there is congestion at airports due to security issues during the festival season.
Order to follow the guidelines
BCAS Director General Zulfikar Hasan has directed the airlines companies to strictly follow the guidelines for safety and security. BCAS officials also assured the airlines representatives that they are working with the concerned agencies to find out the root cause of the issue.
Security protocols strengthened to deal with threats
After the meeting, Hasan said that security protocols are strong to deal with such threats. Passengers should fly without any fear. Hasan said, ‘Indian airspace is completely safe. The existing protocol (to deal with the situation) is strong. This is being strictly followed.
70 false threats to airlines in 6 days
Let us tell you that in the last few days, about 70 flights operated by Indian airlines have received false bomb threats. Many flights were diverted due to the fake threats, while some airlines were forced to re-screen all their passengers, causing major inconvenience and delays.
Loss worth crores of rupees
Such threats against Indian airline companies have also resulted in huge financial losses. Airlines officials estimate that they have suffered a loss of crores of rupees.
Agencies are investigating the matter
Earlier this week, Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu had said that law enforcement agencies were actively investigating all cases of bomb threats against airlines. The government is closely monitoring the situation.
Marshals will be deployed in the flight
At the same time, the central government is also planning to increase the deployment of air marshals on flights, while the investigating agencies will investigate whether there is any pattern in the warnings.
