Bihar is going to get four more Vande Bharat Express trains by 2025. Travelling in Bihar is going to become easier on many routes, not only this, but another train maintenance area is being developed in Bihar’s capital Patna.
Which trains will run?
One Vande Bharat train will run from Patna to Malda via Bhagalpur and Tatanagar. One Vande Bharat train will also run from Gaya to Kolkata and Muzaffarpur to Delhi. Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat train will start in 2024, while the remaining three trains will start running on the tracks in 2025.
Preparation for maintenance
A coaching complex is being constructed near Patliputra Junction for the maintenance of these trains. This complex will cost around Rs 200 crore. Apart from this, Rajendranagar Coaching Complex is also being upgraded at a cost of Rs 20 crore so that the maintenance of Vande Bharat trains can be done effectively.
Vande Bharat trains already running
Already four Vande Bharat Express trains are operating in Bihar, running from Patna to Howrah, New Jalpaiguri, Lucknow, and Ranchi. With the addition of new trains, the number of Vande Bharat Express in the state will increase to eight.
