Meeting between Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis in Maharashtra, discussion on oath taking preparations

New Delhi. The political turmoil in Maharashtra has now reached its final stage. The state will get a new government within a few hours. BJP legislature party leader Devendra Fadnavis will take oath as Chief Minister on Thursday evening. This will be his third term. The swearing-in ceremony will be organized in a grand manner at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, where many senior leaders and dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present.

Uday Samant’s statement: Eknath Shinde will be Deputy CM

Senior Shiv Sena leader and MLA Uday Samant gave a big statement and said that his party leader Eknath Shinde will take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. Samant clarified in the press conference, “If Eknath Shinde does not become the Deputy Chief Minister, then no MLA from our party will take oath as a minister. We are confident that Shinde will take a positive decision and take oath as Deputy CM.”

Uday Samant also said that without Eknath Shinde, no Shiv Sena leader will accept ministerial post in the government. Shiv Sena leaders met Shinde to persuade him and requested him to join the government.

Sanjay Shirsat’s big statement

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat said that Eknath Shinde is disappointed at losing the post of Chief Minister. He said, “It is natural to feel disappointed after leaving a post like CM. But we are sure that Shinde will join the government and take oath as Deputy CM. The party has requested him to contribute to the service of the state.”

Swearing in will take place in a grand ceremony

The swearing-in ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis will be held at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai. Strict security arrangements have been made for the program. The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has an overwhelming majority of 230 seats along with Shiv Sena and NCP. Along with Fadnavis, NCP chief Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde are also likely to take oath as deputy chief ministers at the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday evening.

Fadnavis will become CM for the third time

Nagpur MLA Devendra Fadnavis, 54, will take oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the third time. On Wednesday, he along with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar met Governor CP Radhakrishnan and staked claim to form the government. This strong form of Mahayuti alliance has given a new direction to the politics of the state. BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP have together made a comprehensive strategy to form the government. Chief Minister Fadnavis and his colleagues may announce plans for the development of the state after the swearing-in.
