Rescue operation being carried out to search workers.
Dehradun: Four laborers are still stranded at the Mana Avalavadar site in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, which are being taken out. Rescue operations have been started on the third day to evacuate the laborers trapped in several feet snow here. District Magistrate of Chamoli, Dr. Sandeep Tiwari said that the weather is clear and relief and rescue operations to remove the trapped laborers have started again in the morning. He informed that GPR system is also coming to investigate the missing laborers. He hoped that this would speed up the search operation and miss the missing people today.
Helicopter reached to help the injured
District Magistrate Dr. Sandeep Tiwari said that the MI-17 helicopter has also reached Dehradun for relief work on behalf of the army and is going to come to the spot. He informed that the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Provisional Force (SDRF) are also on the spot while NDRF more jawans are also going to reach. The District Magistrate said that at this time seven helicopters, including a private helicopter, are engaged in relief and rescue for relief work. He said that the work of bringing the injured in the accident through helicopter has started from Mana.
A laborer reached his house
Let us know that 54 Majdars of the Border Roads Organization, who were living there, were trapped in snow due to avalanche on Friday near Mana village located at a height of about 3200 meters. The number of laborers was earlier said to be 55, but this number was revised to 54 after a laborer was reported to be safe at his house in Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. Of these, 50 were taken out by Saturday, out of which four died during treatment. Central Command General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta and GOC Lt Gen D.G. Mishra has also reached the avalanche site to monitor the rescue operation.
