Indian Railways have been placed on high alert after the missile attack under ‘Operation Sindhu’ by the Indian Army in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
The Railway Board has made preparations to run military special trains and goods trains to deliver the necessary military logistics such as arms, army vehicles, tanks, food items and medicines in a situation like war. For this, additional staff – such as loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, guards and assistants – have been deployed.

According to sources, for the last few days, marathon meetings were held between the top officers of the army and the Railway Board in the Rail Bhavan and a detailed action plan was prepared. Under this, the Railways has formally declared high alert.
Security of railway tracks and stations
In view of the threat of any possible attack by Pakistan, the security system of railway tracks, stations, bridges and tunnels adjacent to the Indo-Pak border has been strengthened. In addition, two contingents of CRPF have been deployed on the world’s highest rail track bordering the China border.
