Kangana Ranaut in your court
New Delhi: BJP MP Kangana Ranaut answered several questions on India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma’s prestigious TV show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. On her controversial remarks about hanging bodies and rape incidents during farmers’ protests, the BJP MP clarified that she never said that the farmers did it. Kangana said, “I had said that where farmers’ protests took place, bodies were found hanging, gang rapes took place. I never said that farmers did this, miscreants did this. I have video coverage.”
Said this on the farmers’ movement
Kangana said, ‘As a person, I feel that the world denies the truth even after seeing it and lives in lies. My sarcasm was against the ‘rioters’, not against the farmers. I myself belong to a farmer family, I used to take food to the fields myself. My grandmother used to say that do farming. I had this feeling in my mind that the farmers’ movement was completely hijacked.
Example given of Shaheen Bagh
Actress Kangana Ranaut said, ‘I had said that people were brought to Shaheen Bagh by giving them Rs 500 each, everyone has seen it. I will produce a video. I saw that biryani was being served there. The same faces that were seen in Shaheen Bagh, the same faces were seen at the place of farmers’ protest. People have seen it.’
Guidelines are received from the party
On the BJP central leadership issuing a statement expressing “disagreement” with her on issues related to farmers and making it clear that she is “not authorised to make statements on policy issues”, Kangana Ranaut responded, “It has been only 2 months since I joined politics. We get party guidelines, but the media blew it out of proportion by saying that I was reprimanded. BJP people love me, they are honest and genuine people.
